PCB Launch event 2017

“Following the recent acquisition of PCB Care & InTouch Home Care, N-Trust hosted a “Launch day” which was designed to present the future vision of the business. During the day we covered a number of critical topics including the alignment of our systems and protocols, our continued growth strategy both organically and through further acquisition, together with the exciting opportunities associated with these ambitious plans involving all locations and the various disciplines. We were also treated to a masterclass in Marketing by our digital Marketing Partner Netinspire, who’s MD Chris Peers showcased the new websites which they have developed ready for launch this month, together with all the new and exciting facilities designed to improve communication and ease of access to our comprehensive services.

The event took place in the fantastic surroundings of Whittlebury Hall and was extremely well received by everyone involved, giving many the opportunity to meet colleagues from across the country for the very first time.

PCB and InTouch have a rich trading history and have been established for over 3 decades, during which time they have developed an enviable reputation built upon a talented and very loyal workforce, delivering a fully compliant and regulated service across a 24/7 platform. Accolades which haven’t been lost within the acquisition by N-Trust and certainly a professional space within the sector we intend to protect and occupy without compromise. So the key message of the day was BRAND SECURITY and how N-Trust will be absorbed into that brand in order to create a formidable force”.

Welcome Mel!

Please extend a warm welcome to the newest member of the N-Trust family, Melissa Moseley. Melissa (or Mel as she likes to be known) joins N-Trust Care Services in the capacity of Senior Consultant and will be instrumental in developing growth within the West Midlands area.

Melissa has worked within the recruitment sector for over 18 years, 12 of which have been within the Health and Social Care arena. Melissa started her recruitment career within administration and worked for a local employment agency where she was accountable for the payroll of over 200 operatives!

Melissa quickly proved how driven she was within her role and demonstrated her effectiveness with administration, branch support and process. Melissa became very tenacious and was quick to take on additional responsibilities within her branch location. These duties included training junior members of staff, supporting with projects, compliance, resource and administrative support. Although Melissa started her career within an industrial recruitment business she soon moved into a role within Health and Social care. A ten year period within this role saw Melissa blossom into a true recruitment professional in every sense of the word, she steadily climbed the ranks based upon merit into an operational role. This involved Melissa working for a high street Social Care recruitment business where she was engaged in the first instance in a payroll capacity, however Melissa proved a pivotal member of the team and was a key part to the branch’s success.

These results earnt Melissa promotion to client service manager where she became the lead account manager for large scale private and charitable based social care services, Melissa successfully recruited and managed a temporary desk of up to 2500 hours per week which contributed to a staggering £280,000 margin in one year alone!

Throughout Melissa’s career she has delivered services to some of the nations biggest care providers, covering private, charitable and NHS trusts where she was instrumental in delivering layered and bespoke services to a wide variety of vulnerable service users. Being local to the West Midlands region, and having already worked in the Health & Social Care sector means Melissa has already established many relationships, these have been forged with many of our clients and staff alike, therefore Melissa shares the same values and ethical working practice so in essence her appointment became merely a meeting of minds!

Charity football event raises thousands for C.R.Y

Sue Deaville, our Stoke Branch Manager pictured back row second from the right, formed part of the only female team participating in a recent charity football event in support of C.R.Y. This small fact didn't however dampen the competitive edge of the all opposing male teams, whose egos we are guessing simply wouldn't yield to being beaten by a bunch of girls.

Sue carries the bruises to prove the competitive nature of the event but feels that every lump was worthwhile and is taking her revenge by shaming everyone that put 5 or more goals passed her team. Shame on you boys! Share the blog please ladies.

The event in aid of C.R.Y (Cardiac Risk in the Young) was well attended and involved some 16 x 7 a side teams who battled through 4 rounds of tough competition, resulting in a final tournament winner of Audley under 21's/ Well done gentlemen!!

The event raised £1784.35 on the day and any further donations would be very welcome and can be made by visiting the Just Giving website here.

The charity was set up as a memorial to Daniel Hughes by his family to help C.R.Y. (Cardiac Risk in the Young) reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death through supporting C.R.Y.'s screening programme.

The aim is to fund the screening of young people within the local community, of which Daniel was a very active member, in order to avoid further premature loss and the suffering that loss leaves in it's wake.

Sue commented that 'One life saved is worth all the effort and although Daniel is sadly missed by all those that knew and loved him, this was a great way to remember him and I'm sure he would want us all to continue on celebrating what were all too brief but wonderful memories we all have of him'


Welcome Sue

N-Trust is delighted to welcome our latest star, Sue Deaville! Who joins the team in the capacity of Branch Manager and will be leading the development of extended services from our new location in Stoke-On-Trent. Sue brings an excellent pedigree and wealth of experience to the team, having enjoyed many years of success within our sector, becoming well respected and known for her diligence by many customers, throughout the extended region of Staffordshire and adjoining market places.

She describes herself as a highly driven professional with an appetite for developing people to their full potential. Sue can boast a list of former successes from managing complex teams to opening new services in both the Chester and Stoke markets but her proudest moment is undoubtedly when she became a mom.

Having recently returned from maternity, she had a great deal of time to consider what she really wanted from her career and decided that whilst being a mother is the most important job she will ever hold, she also knew that she deserved something for herself and realised that she has a great deal to offer, other than being a mom, and is therefore relishing this new challenge and equally exciting chapter in her life.

Sue suggests that this is a message that will no doubt resonate with many people and although their circumstances may be somewhat different, if they're someone that is looking to work in the Health & Social Care sector, whilst meeting the demands of family life, then Sue will be happy to champion their corner and support them to find that balance they seek.

She believes that there is a lot of untapped talent out there and is determined to empower and engage with all those in her local area looking for their next career move, whether that would be on a temporary, contract or permanent basis no matter what their perceived limitations.

Proof in the pudding

Further to our blog 'Careers fair success' which was published on 6th April 2017, we are delighted to follow this up with the sharing of a wonderful testimonial received from one of the delegates present on the day. This is the story of Anuradha, one of many people that expressed a keen interest within N-Trust Care Services during this event. Like many of them she too was very sceptical about 'recruitment businesses' a view largely informed by some bad press and much negative hearsay. She can therefore be forgiven for approaching our stand with more than a little trepidation and then thanked for her honest feedback, reflections and thoughts of her own personal experience outside of these rumours and second hand accounts.

Whilst I'm sure there are many such similar accounts and even more story tellers looking to promote these anecdotes, we felt that this genuine tale deserved to be told and framed in the words of the author herself. It reflects a story which we hope will not only resonate with many trying to break into care, but will remind all of our other successful candidates of their own positive experience with N-Trust.

To offer some further context to Anuradha's journey up to this point, I would like to offer the following time line:

The jobs fair was run on the 5th April, following her consultation Anuradha came in for a formal interview, held at our Wolverhampton offices on the 10th April and was offered an external interview with one of our clients for the very next day. She interviewed with the client on the 11th and was deservedly offered a permanent opportunity through our popular 'Temporary to Permanent' scheme, which she was delighted to accept. She was so enthused by this process, she committed pen to paper on the 13th April and is currently scheduled to complete her practical manual handling training, starting her new job shortly afterwards.

Whilst N-Trust typically recruit contract staff that are required to evidence a minimum of 6 months paid experience, we also partner with a number of Care Providers whom retain our services in a bid to identify candidates to fulfil their own internal full and part time posts. Many of these clients offer a gateway into care and are always keen to interview those who can demonstrate exceptional attitude, excellent communication skills and remain totally flexible in their willingness to work across a 24/7 platform.

We support this strategy by providing ALL mandatory training courses, these being classroom based, trainer led and supported by a full review of learning. We further provide the theory element of a blended Care Certificate which in collaboration with our client is later signed off following their observation of practical application within the service/theatre of operation.

We provide a full suite of references, complete enhanced DBS checks on ALL and add any bespoke training courses which may be specifically commissioned by our clients, in order to achieve full compliance prior to contract engagement.

N-Trust are CQC registered and therefore align our own recruitment processes with those providers working within the regulated activities sector and so whilst we are a professional recruitment business, we approach those responsibilities as seriously as would a care provider operating as part of the local business community.

Careers fair success

Fantastic day at the “Careers in Care” jobs fair yesterday which was staged at the Molineux stadium and involved over 30 local organisations covering the complete spectrum of Health and Social Care. A vast array of career opportunities, from temporary, contract and permanent posts through to many apprenticeship schemes, were presented and promoted throughout the event.

Our ladies, Monique and Lovelin pictured here, were run ragged on the busiest stand of the day and didn’t have a moment to themselves as they managed to engage with over 70 potential candidates during the half day event. A phenomenal result with which we couldn’t be happier, WELL DONE ladies, you’re a class act.

Thank you ALSO to everyone that registered an interest in working with N-Trust, the event is all about you and our business simply wouldn’t function without exceptional candidates like yourself, representing our services. Happy Birthday Ash!

The entire team at N-Trust Care Services would like to wish Ashley Hall a very HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY for Saturday 25th March. Spud, as he’s affectionately known, due to his keen interest in gardening and management of a showcase allotment, has decided to take a long weekend away in Cornwall and celebrate his quarter century in style. He did ask if Cornish pasties are available down South? Make up your own mind on that one!!

Ash is pictured here, taking early receipt of his surprise gifts, purchased from, amongst others, the local goodwill of course, prior to him taking annual leave. Being somewhat of a prankster, he suffered a very uncomfortable day, imagining all the retribution which might befall him and despite running a training course, he managed to “nip” in and out of the office on a regular basis, fearful of the potential carnage being hatched in his absence.

Of course, that simply meant that he set himself up for a day of falsehoods, red herrings and total anxiety. Guess that bottle of Lucozade will come in handy after all Ash? (He did open it before we published this, didn’t he?)

Spud is a very popular member of the team and a larger than life character, who would be hard to miss in a coalmine without a lamp. He’s a local lad but still gets challenged at Morrison’s when trying to buy alcohol, and that’s by his Aunty Margie who’s worked there since Ash was a pup. He puts this youthful appearance down to laughter and assures us it has nothing to do with the day he and his cousin Joe helped themselves to Aunty Margie’s Sherry, when they were just 13 years of age.

He’s a 1st responder with the St Johns Ambulance, so we’re sure that the mega-box of plasters (main picture) we got him as a practical gift, will go down a storm and more importantly become the gift that just simply keeps on giving. (Of course we're not that much of a cheapskate, so check out our Facebook page tomorrow afternoon for his real gift!)

The Green Giant, as the local homeless people refer to him as he marches around in uniform, can be seen most weeks volunteering at the Grand Theatre and likes nothing more than a good sing along to Sister Act. He’s so keen on it in fact, he gives us a regular rendition in the mornings over our Cheerio’s, so much so, it’s becoming a bit of a bad habit.

So a HUGE Happy Birthday to the chuckle monkey from all the Banana’s in the bunch.


Happy Anniversary Christy

Congratulations to Christy Linehan, who is celebrating her 1st anniversary with N-Trust Care Services.

She is seen, trying to wrestle the bottle from Ashley’s grip, being a little partial to a drop of Vino himself and of course any excuse showing off that tan and he’s up for it. So good luck holding on to it!

Christy has proven to be a valuable member of the team and literally is involved in all aspects of our service provision, from designing managed recruitment campaigns to supporting large key accounts. She brings an excellent pedigree, with many years experience of working within regulated activities and managing some of the most complex of packages.

She holds a Level 5 in leadership and Management but remains very “hands on” even covering a number of direct shifts with her own clients. This enables her to develop a more intimate understanding of those services and in turn informs her matching and management process, which both assures and improves the client experience.

Christy also forms part of the “internal” ON-CALL team and is therefore integrated with our entire client base, which supports consistency and continuity of service when extended out of hours by the local team, providing all the expected benefits of that local knowledge, client awareness and strength of immediate relationships.

With our recent accreditation to C.Q.C.
